Shérif de Loggepole, Chad Lucas est trahi par son adjoint, Cap, qui lui tire dessus au moment où ils devaient arrêter la bande de Drago, pilleur de train recherché dans tout le pays. De retour en ville, Cap annonce la mort de Chad Lucas, mais ce dernier n'est que blessé et se lance aussitôt à la poursuite du traître...
