Dans un club de jazz, Cathy, riche et belle, s'éprend de Dan le pianiste aveugle de l'orchestre, compositeur au talent prometteur, mais personnage distant et renfermé. Cathy feint d'être pauvre et aveugle pour se rapprocher de lui, et l'aider.
