Megan et Dave, un couple de jeunes mariés, connaissent des problèmes d'argent. Ils décident alors de louer une partie de leur maison. Leur choix se porte rapidement sur Courtney, une belle et énergique jeune femme. Au début, tout semble parfaitement se passer. Megan et Courtney ne tardent pas à sympathiser car Dave, en tant que médecin à demeure, passe beaucoup de temps à l'hôpital.
