Réveil dans la terreur (1971)
Instituteur de la classe unique de Timboonda, une bourgade perdue d'Australie, John Grant se réjouit de s'envoler vers Sydney pour les vacances d'été. Il fait une halte obligée à Bundanyabba pour prendre son avion. Le shérif de cette ville minière lui offre la première d'une longue série de pintes, avant qu'il ne soit entraîné dans un ruineux jeu de pile ou face. Le lendemain, il se réveille avec la gueule de bois, a raté son vol et n'a plus d'argent. Débute alors pour lui un long calvaire caniculaire fortement alcoolisé…
