Faute de preuves (1991)
Brighton, 1959. Tony Aaron est un ancien policier reconverti en détective privé dans les affaires de divorce. Il s'est en particulier spécialisé dans la falsification des preuves d'adultère. Il est engagé pour une nouvelle affaire en apparence anodine. Il mêle sa femme à son enquête sur le peintre Carlo Stasio, mais le couple est brutalement assassiné dans une chambre d'hôtel. Frank, ancien partenaire de Tony, est mis sur le coup. Ses deux principaux suspects sont: Angeline, la maîtresse du peintre qui aurait pu vouloir le tuer pour hériter de ses peintures et de sa maison; et Tony lui-même, devenu suspect numéro un du meurtre de sa propre femme.
