Depuis des siècles, le fantôme Sir Simon de Canterville erre dans les couloirs de son manoir en Angleterre, à la recherche d’un descendant qui puisse le libérer de son sort. Le seul problème est qu’il fait fuir toutes les personnes qui tentent d’y vivre. Un jour une famille américaine s’installe avec ses trois enfants dans cette demeure : Victoria et ses irrésistibles frères jumeaux Kent et Louis.
