La rose et le chacal (1990)
Aux États-Unis, dans les années 1860. La guerre de Sécession fait rage. Allan Pinkerton, fondateur et directeur des services secrets du Nord, a pour mission d'empêcher à tout prix les fuites d'informations vers le Sud. De son côté, Rose O'Neal Greenhow, belle aristocrate sudiste, tente de préserver son héritage en espionnant pour le compte des troupes confédérées. Au plus fort du conflit, Allan et Rose vont se rencontrer et, contre toute attente, s'éprendre l'un de l'autre. Il incarne l'autorité qu'elle est censée duper ; elle représente cet ennemi qu'il a juré de combattre. Leur histoire d'amour est mise à l'épreuve par le conflit qui agite le pays...
