Le Choix d'une vie (1999)
Été 1969. Malgré les nombreux bouleversements en Amérique, la vie n'a pas changé pour Pearl Krantowitz: elle est une femme fidèle et élève ses enfants. Pour l’été, Pearl, sa fille, son fils précoce et sa belle-mère rejoignent les bungalows du docteur Fogler. Son mari, Marty, à qui Pearl craint d'avoir été mariée bien trop jeune, ne se joint pas a eux. Elle rencontre alors Walker Jérôme, un vendeur de vêtements. Malgré elle, Pearl est attirée par ce hippie charmeur et finit par commettre l'impensable.
