L'Homme qui trompait la mort (1959)
Le docteur George Bonner détient l'élixir de l'éternelle jeunesse : une greffe glandulaire effectuée tous les dix ans lui permet en effet de continuer à paraître trente-cinq ans quand, en fait, il est déjà centenaire. Mais son collègue, le très âgé Ludwig Weisz, qui refuse de continuer à l'opérer, est assassiné. Devant la nécessité de le remplacer, Bonner kidnappe Janine et fait pression sur son amant, le Dr Pierre Gérard, pour qu'il pratique de toute urgence cette greffe au risque de périr d'un vieillissement accéléré...
