Capitaine Pantoufle (1953)
Emmanuel Bonavent mène une petite vie tranquille entre sa femme et ses beaux-parents, mais rêve secrètement d'aventures et de voyages exotiques. Chaque matin, en se rendant à la banque qui l'emploie, Emmanuel flâne devant les vitrines et imagine des évasions chimériques. Ce matin-là, Emmanuel a été dénoncé à M. Rachoux, le directeur de la banque par Lesurpied, un collègue malveillant qui lui reproche ses retards. Emmanuel est convoqué et récolte quelques observations. Mais il voit le directeur remettre à l'employé M. Charnudet 840.000 Francs de traites à encaisser et décide de s'emparer de la sacoche pour s'offrir quelques heures d'illusions. Mais le directeur prévient toute la famille de son forfait. Pour se soustraire aux reproches, Emmanuel feint une commotion cérébrale, reste prostré, découvrant ainsi les sentiments de chacun à son égard.
