Passionnée de gastronomie depuis qu'elle tenait une rubrique dédiée dans le journal du lycée, Lauren a grandi avec le rêve d'intégrer une prestigieuse école de cuisine de Paris. Pour financer ce projet, elle travaille avec Denise, une éditrice de livres de cuisine, qui lui offre 25 000 dollars pour écrire le recueil de recettes de Dexter Durant, un chef étoilé séduisant et médiatique.
