The Day the Series Stopped (2014)
Le 17 octobre 1989, à 17h04, peu après le début du troisième match des World Series opposant les San Francisco Giants aux Oakland Athletics, la terre se met à trembler sous le stade de Candlestick Park. Ce match promettait d'être mémorable, car c'était le premier en 33 ans à opposer deux équipes de la même zone métropolitaine, avec une pléthore de joueurs vedettes très populaires. Mais le séisme de Loma Prieta d'une magnitude de 6,9 a frappé, mettant un terme au tournoi et semant le chaos et la destruction dans la baie de San Francisco. Au travers d'images d'archives, de témoignages inédits de joueurs et d'habitants d'Oakland et de San Francisco, ainsi que d'un regard scientifique, ce film raconte les événements qui se sont produits ce soir-là, il y a 25 ans.
