Détour mortel (2014)
Auteur de romans policiers, Tess Thorne connaît un grand succès après des personnes âgées. Un jour, alors qu'elle rentre d'une conférence dans le Massachusetts, elle est enlevée par un routier qui la bat, la viole, l'étrangle et la laisse pour morte dans une canalisation parmi les cadavres d'autres victimes. Elle survit et hésite à prévenir la police avant de décider de se faire justice elle-même.
