The Amazing Mr. X (1948)
Une nuit, sur la plage, Christine Faber, veuve depuis deux ans, croit entendre son défunt mari Paul qui l'appelle depuis les flots... puis elle rencontre un homme grand et sombre, Alexis, qui semble tout savoir de ces manifestations. Après d'autres apparitions fantomatiques, Christine et sa jeune soeur Janet se retrouvent mêlées aux étranges manipulations d'Alexis, mais ce dernier se retrouve à son tour entraîné dans une situation encore plus diabolique qu'il ne le pensait...
