Une fusillade éclate dans le grand restaurant où Reese, une jeune et brillante chef de cuisine, vient d'être engagée. Elle est la seule survivante d'un carnage qui coûte la vie à quatorze personnes. Trois ans plus tard, elle vit et travaille dans la petite ville d'Angel Falls. Alors qu'elle cherche encore à se reconstruire, elle est témoin d'un meurtre lors d'une promenade en montagne. Le shérif refuse de la croire.
