Tombstone, 1881. Le marshal Wyatt Earp et son allié, le joueur de poker Doc Holliday, sortent victorieux du règlement de compte à O.K. Corral. Une victoire qui, au premier, laisse un goût amer, son frère ayant été tué par l’un des membres du clan tenu d’une main de fer par Ike Clanton. Ivre de vengeance, le marshal entreprend aussitôt une expédition punitive, accompagné d’un Doc Holliday aussi désabusé que gravement malade…
