Un sujet de sa Majesté, vivant heureux dans une ville du Brésil, raconte comment il fit fortune : modeste employé de banque, en charge du convoi de lingots entre la fonderie et la réserve de la banque par fourgon spécial, il rencontre un jour Pendlebury qui approvisionne la France en petites Tour Eiffel. Une idée lumineuse jaillit des cerveaux des deux compères...
