Kae est étudiante, elle travaille dur pour pouvoir devenir un jour institutrice. Un jour, elle emménage dans un nouveau appartement, où elle ne tarde pas à découvrir le journal intime d'une jeune femme, Ibiku Mano. Cette dernière écrivait dans le carnet à l'époque où elle commençait juste à enseigner dans une école primaire. Kae se met à lire son journal et s'identifie à la jeune femme...
