Vengeance froide (1996)
Dave Robicheaux, ancien flic alcoolique, a decidé de se retirer des affaires et vit désormais avec sa femme, Annie, dans le golfe du Mexique ou il dirige une affaire de location de bateaux. Quand, un jour un bimoteur s'écrase sous leurs yeux dans les marais salants de Louisiane. A son bord, deux femmes venues clandestinement du Salvador, un prêtre, l'homme de main d'un caid et une petite fille. Ils sauvent l'enfant et décident de la garder. Mais le mystère qui entoure cet accident réveille chez Dave ses vieux réflexes de détective.
