Jane Eyre (2011)
Après une enfance douloureuse, passée sous la coupe de sa tante puis dans un sinistre internat, une jeune orpheline, Jane Eyre, décide de s'émanciper et répond à une petite annonce : on cherche une gouvernante au château de Thornfield-Hall. Jane est engagée. Elle éduquera la protégée du maître des lieux, le ténébreux Rochester, dont elle fait la connaissance dans des conditions dramatiques. En dépit de la froideur et de la bizarrerie de Rochester, Jane ne peut pas s'empêcher de tomber amoureuse de lui. Elle sait pourtant qu'il est très au-dessus de sa condition et, de surcroît, déjà engagé avec la fière miss Ingram. Peu à peu, l'intérêt de Rochester à son égard perce sous son masque d'indifférence narquoise...
