House of Mystery (1934)
Jadis, un très douteux archéologue nommé Prendergast avait levé des fonds aux États-Unis auprès d'investisseurs naïfs pour financer une expédition en Inde. Il disparut bientôt en emportant un trèsor volé dans un temple. Bien des années plus tard, sa trace est retrouvée au pays natal et les ayants-droits réclament leur part. Prendergast accepte de les inviter chez lui pour leur montrer que la malédiction associée à cette fortune est on ne peut plus dissuasive : tout prétendant peut y laisser la santé, voire la vie...
