De retour en Allemagne après une opération militaire en Afghanistan, Sandra, la trentaine, ne parvient pas à oublier ce qu'elle a vécu sur le terrain. Plutôt que de démarrer une thérapie, elle s'enlise dans d'obsédantes hallucinations, persuadée d'entendre un blindé dans son grenier...
