Mary Beth est un biologiste marin qui obtient ennuyé quand un chien appelé Zeus arrime à bord de son bateau de recherche. Néanmoins, elle est intrigué quand la canine intrusive rend les meilleures amis avec son dauphin captif, Roxanne. Elle tombe amoureuse avec le propriétaire de Zeus, Terry, un musicien qui monte un vélo.
