Une compagnie de pétrole américaine décide d'installer une usine dans le désert de Mongolie sans savoir qu'elle réveillerait un nid de vers géants assoiffés de sang. Alors que les monstres dévorent tout sur leur passage, Daniel, un aventurier, semble être le seul en mesure de les arrêter par sa connaissance d'une tombe légendaire, sans doute la clé du mystère entourant les vers.
