La fille de la 5e avenue (1939)
Alfred Borden est un millionnaire qui se sent négligé par sa famille. Sa femme Martha, sa fille Katherine et son fils Tim l'ignorent et oublient son anniversaire. Seul et déprimé, il fait la connaissance dans Central Park de Mary, une jeune femme au chômage. Il l'invite alors à dîner dans un restaurant chic pour fêter son anniversaire. Après une nuit de libations et d'extravagances en tout genre, Borden propose à Mary, sa compagne d'un soir, de vivre chez lui dans le seul but d'irriter sa famille.
