Peter Lorre, le rôle du méchant (1996)
Peter Lorre n'a que 27 ans lorsque Fritz Lang le choisit pour interpréter un assassin d'enfants dans "M le Maudit". Sa physionomie inquiétante et inoubliable en fait un psychopathe très crédible, talent qu'a su utiliser Hitchcock lorsque l'acteur, chassé par le nazisme, a émigré aux Etats-Unis. De "L'homme qui en savait trop" au "Faucon maltais", de John Huston, ou à "Casablanca", de Curtiz, Peter Lorre fut un formidable interprète du film noir.
