Un dandy, séduit par la beauté de son portrait, vend son âme au diable pour que seul le tableau subisse les ravages du temps. Pendant qu'il mène une vie de débauche, la toile s'enlaidit et reflète le vrai visage de son âme. Désepéré, Dorian tue le peintre et détruit la toile, précipitant ainsi sa propre mort...
