Si les historiens et les cinéastes ont souvent associé la guerre du renseignement contre Hitler avec la machine Enigma et Alan Turing, il existe un autre homme de l'ombre sans lequel rien n'eût été possible. Il s'agit de Hans-Thilo Schmidt, alias Asche, un espion recruté par les services français de contre-espionnage, opérant en Allemagne de 1931 à 1943. Ce docu-fiction raconte son histoire.
