Dès son plus jeune âge, Jan Mikolášek se passionne pour les plantes et leurs vertus médicinales. Il devient l’un des plus grands guérisseurs de son époque. Dans la tourmente de la guerre et des crises du XXe siècle, il consacre sa vie à soigner sans distinction les riches comme les pauvres, les Allemands nazis sous l’Occupation comme les fonctionnaires communistes d’après-guerre. Sa popularité finira par irriter les pouvoirs politiques. Accusé de charlatanisme, Mikolášek doit alors prouver le bien-fondé de sa science lors de son procès...
