Christa et Jake filent le parfait amour et vont bientôt se marier. Christa, qui travaille dans le milieu de la mode, vient de lancer une activité de coach vestimentaire qui peine à décoller. Elle fait la connaissance de Kat, une jeune femme en quête de conseils. Mais très vite, l'admiration que Kat éprouve envers Christa tourne à l'obsession et elle s'immisce progressivement dans sa vie. Derrière l'enthousiasme envahissant de Kat se cache, en réalité, une profonde fêlure qui remonte à l'adolescence. A cette époque, la jeune femme a eu une relation avec Jake, le futur époux de Christa, dont elle est restée éperdument amoureuse. Elle compte bien le reconquérir par tous les moyens...
