L'Araignée (1950)
Deborah Chandler Clark fuit son mari le soir de sa nuit de noces et sa voiture tombe d'un pont au détour d'un virage. Elle raconte alors son histoire. Tout a commencé lorsque Seldon Clark lui a proposé de l'épouser le jour de l'enterrement de son père. Le jour de ses noces, elle rencontre la maitresse de son mari, Patricia Monahan, une femme jalouse qui lui apprend que son mari ne l'a épousé que pour son argent. Évitant de justesse la mort, elle décide de se cacher le temps de trouver un moyen de prouver la culpabilité de son mari.
