Un drôle de paroissien (1963)
Malgré une situation financière dramatique due à de mauvais placements boursiers, Georges Lachesnaye, pilier de toute sa famille aristocrate, refuse de se soustraire à l’oisiveté, érigée en véritable tradition familiale. À l’église, une révélation lui envoie un message et attire son attention sur un tronc, ressource inespérée qu’il se met en tête d’utiliser pour subvenir à ses besoins. Robin des bois des lieux du culte, Georges, pilleur de troncs au grand cœur, avec l'aide de son ami Raoul, se livre alors à un subtil jeu de cache-cache avec la police pour sa nouvelle activité aux débuts artisanaux pour devenir une grosse production de « prélèvements »…
