Ni la mer, ni le sable (1972)
Parce qu'elle souhaite fuir ses problèmes matrimoniaux, Anna visite l'Ile de Jersey. Elle y fait la connaissance de George Dabernon. Il vit avec son frère et ils sont les derniers descendants d'une ancienne famille de nobles. Anna et George tombent amoureux l'un de l'autre et pour éviter les reproches moraux du frère, conservateur et extrêmement croyant, le couple s'échappe en Ecosse. Là, George meurt d'une attaque cardiaque mais revient à la vie le lendemain, au comportement étrangement transformé. De retour à Jersey, les événements virent au tragique.
