Et la parole fut… (1939)
Le futur inventeur Alexander Graham Bell tombe amoureux d'une femme atteinte de surdité, Mabel Hubbard, qui enseigne dans une école pour sourds. Elle repousse les demandes en mariage de l'inventeur tant que les expériences de ce dernier n'auront pas abouti. Finalement, il réussit à inventer le téléphone, se marie et devient riche, mais son bonheur est menacé par une société concurrente qui veut le ruiner...
