Le soir de Noël, la famille Miller reçoit un étrange cadeau : une boule à neige mécanique contenant la réplique exacte de leur ville. Lorsque le mécanisme est mis en marche, cela déclenche de terribles catastrophes à l'intérieur de la boule. Ces catastrophes se répercutent aussitôt dans le monde réel. Il est impossible d'arrêter le mécanisme...
