Biographie:

Née à Taïwan de parents originaires du Hunan (Henan), son nom d'origine était Lei Qiusi. Elle a rejoint Shaw Brothers en 1970, où elle s'est imposée comme une figure de proue des arts martiaux. Ayant remporté un vif succès auprès du public, Shaw Brothers la considérait comme la nouvelle Cheng Pei-pei. Elle a donc joué dans de nombreux films d'arts martiaux, notamment Rescue, The Hermit Woman, Song Hero, The Villain, Bloody Landscape et The Goddess of Justice. Son agilité et son talent ont consolidé son statut de star féminine de films d'action. Après avoir joué le rôle principal dans Deadly Secret en 1980, elle a quitté Hong Kong pour poursuivre sa carrière cinématographique à Taïwan. Elle s'est retirée de la scène au début des années 1980.
