Né le 22 octobre 1964 dans le Massachusetts, Bill Camp est un acteur américain de théâtre et de cinéma. Formé à la Juilliard School à New York, il bâtit d'abord sa réputation sur les planches, notamment à Broadway dans *Mort d'un commis voyageur* et *La Mouette*, avant de recevoir un Obie Award en 2002 pour *Homebody/Kaboul* de Tony Kushner. Il est également nommé aux Tony Awards en 2016 pour son rôle dans la reprise de *Les Sorcières de Salem* d'Arthur Miller. Au cinéma, il s'impose comme l'un des acteurs de second rôle les plus recherchés d'Hollywood, apparaissant dans *Lincoln* (2012), *12 Years a Slave* (2013), *Birdman* (2014), *Molly's Game* (2017) et *Joker* (2019) — ayant figuré dans cinq films nommés à l'Oscar du meilleur film. À la télévision, son rôle de détective dans la minisérie HBO *The Night Of* (2016) lui vaut une nomination aux Emmy Awards, tout comme sa prestation dans *Le Jeu de la dame* (Netflix, 2020). Marié à l'actrice Elizabeth Marvel, il incarne avec constance des personnages d'une remarquable densité psychologique.
