Albert Lawrence Brooks, né Albert Lawrence Einstein le 22 juillet 1947 à Beverly Hills, Californie, est un acteur, scénariste, réalisateur et comédien américain. Issu d’une famille du show-business, fils de l’actrice Thelma Leeds et du comédien radio Harry Einstein (connu sous le nom de Parkyakarkus), il grandit parmi des figures comme Rob Reiner. Après des études avortées à Carnegie Mellon University, il adopte le nom de Brooks pour éviter la confusion avec le célèbre physicien. Il se fait connaître dans les années 1960-1970 par des sketches satiriques sur des émissions comme The Tonight Show. Il débute au cinéma dans Taxi Driver (1976) et se distingue comme scénariste-réalisateur avec des comédies comme Real Life (1979), Modern Romance (1981) et Lost in America (1985). Nommé aux Oscars pour son rôle dans Broadcast News (1987), il prête également sa voix à Marlin dans Le Monde de Nemo (2003) et Le Monde de Dory (2016). Marié à Kimberly Shlain depuis 1997, il est père de deux enfants.
