Idris Elba, né le 6 septembre 1972 à Londres, est un acteur, producteur, réalisateur, musicien et DJ britannique d'origine sierra-léonaise et ghanéenne. Il se fait connaître mondialement avec le rôle de Russell « Stringer » Bell dans la série culte *The Wire* (2002-2004) sur HBO, suivi de l'inspecteur John Luther dans *Luther* (2010-2019) sur BBC One, performance qui lui vaut un Golden Globe du meilleur acteur en minisérie en 2012 et plusieurs nominations aux Emmy Awards. Au cinéma, il incarne Heimdall dans plusieurs films du Marvel Cinematic Universe (*Thor* de 2011 à *Thor: Love and Thunder* en 2022), Nelson Mandela dans *Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom* (2013), et se distingue dans *Beasts of No Nation* (2015), *Pacific Rim* (2013), *The Suicide Squad* (2021) et *Hobbs & Shaw* (2019). Il prête sa voix à Chief Bogo dans *Zootopia* (2016) et *Zootopia 2* (2025), ainsi qu'à Knuckles dans la franchise *Sonic the Hedgehog*. En 2025, il brille dans le thriller apocalyptique *A House of Dynamite* de Kathryn Bigelow, où il joue le président des États-Unis, et dans *Heads of State*.
