Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt (né le 17 février 1981) est un acteur américain dont la carrière d'enfant et d'adulte comprend des séries télévisées et des films de théâtre. Il est connu pour ses rôles dans l'Indie (500) Days of Summer 2009 et Christopher Nolan's science-fiction Inception. Le premier lui a valu une nomination aux Golden Globe. Ayant débuté dans la publicité dès son plus jeune âge, il a fait ses débuts au cinéma dans Beethoven en 1992. Gordon-Levitt a par la suite joué dans la sitcom télévisée 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996-2001) en tant que jeune Tommy Solomon. Après une pause pendant laquelle il a fréquenté l'Université Columbia, Gordon-Levitt a quitté la télévision pour jouer dans divers films indépendants, en commençant par le film Manic en 2001, suivi par les rôles acclamés dans Mysterious Skin en 2004 et Brick en 2005. Il dirige une société de production collaborative en ligne intitulée HitRECord.
