Katherine Matilda \"Tilda\" Swinton, née le 5 novembre 1960 à Londres, est une actrice britannique d’origine écossaise, reconnue pour ses choix audacieux, son univers éclectique et sa capacité à incarner des personnages étranges, énigmatiques ou poétiques. Après des études à Cambridge en sciences sociales et politiques, elle débute sa carrière dans les années 1980 en collaborant avec le réalisateur Derek Jarman sur des films expérimentaux tels que Caravaggio (1986), The Last of England (1988) et Edward II (1991), qui lui vaut le prix d’interprétation à la Mostra de Venise. Elle alterne ensuite entre cinéma indépendant et productions grand public, avec des rôles marquants dans Orlando (1992), The Deep End (2001), Michael Clayton (2007) qui lui rapporte l’Oscar du meilleur second rôle , la saga Narnia (2005-2010), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), Only Lovers Left Alive (2013), Snowpiercer (2014), Suspiria (2018), Memoria (2021) et The Eternal Daughter (2022).
