Biographie:

Sir David Mark Rylance Waters (né le 18 janvier 1960 à Ashford, Kent, Angleterre) est un acteur, directeur de théâtre et dramaturge anglais. Il a été le premier directeur artistique du Shakespeare's Globe à Londres, entre 1995 et 2005. Au cinéma, il a notamment joué dans Prospero's Books (1991), Angels and Insects (1995), Institut Benjamenta (1996) et Intimacy (2001). Rylance a remporté l'oscar et le BAFTA Award du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle pour son interprétation de Rudolf Abel dans Bridge of Spies (2015). Rylance a joué le rôle-titre dans Le BFG (2016) de Steven Spielberg, une adaptation cinématographique en live action du livre pour enfants de Roald Dahl, et est apparu dans Dunkirk (2017) de Christopher Nolan, basé sur l'évacuation britannique pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il est apparu dans le rôle de James Halliday dans le film Ready Player One de Spielberg (2018), basé sur le roman du même nom.
