Christopher Atkins est un acteur américain, né le 21 février 1961 à Rye dans l'état de New York, sacré star grâce au film Le Lagon bleu face à Brooke Shields en 1980. Après le triomphe de son premier film, Christopher Atkins tourne en vedette un téléfilm avec Diane Lane et pour le grand écran The Pirate Movie de Ken Annakin avec Kristy McNichol et Strip Academy de John G. Avildsen face à Lesley Ann Warren. Ce dernier inspire sans nul doute les producteurs de Dallas qui l'engagent pour jouer le juvénile amant de Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) durant la saison 1983-1984. Après cette expérience, Atkins tourne encore Falco Terror de René Cardona Jr. en 1987 et Mortuary Academy. Mais il est déjà éclipsé par le très jeune Kirk Cameron dans Listen to Me en 1989. Il côtoie Julian McMahon sur Wet and Wild Summer! (1992) et participe au film Les Voyous mis en scène par Carlos Saura, sorti l'année suivante. Atkins n'a jamais cessé de tourner, passant de la comédie familiale à l'horreur (13th Child en 2002 avec Cliff Robertson et Lesley-Anne Down) et au thriller (Lima: Breaking the Silence en 1999, de Menahem Golan), de Payback II (2007) au côté d'Angie Everhart à Exodus Fall (2011) face à Rosanna Arquette.
