Biographie:

Dario Argento est né à Rome, en Italie, le 7 septembre 1940. Il est le fils du producteur Salvatore Argento. Il a commencé sa carrière comme critique de cinéma pour le quotidien romain "Paese Sera". Scénariste professionnel à l'âge tendre de 20 ans, il rejoint Bernardo Bertolucci pour écrire le scénario de l'épopée western de Sergio Leone «Once Upon A Time In The West» en 1967. De nombreux scénarios plus tard, Argento est signé par Goffredo Lombardo, responsable d'un Cinéaste italienne (Titanus) et fait ses débuts en tant que réalisateur en 1970 avec "L'Oiseau au Plumage de Cristal". Son père Salvatore était le producteur de tous ses films jusqu'à "Deep Red" lorsque Claudio Argento a pris la relève. Il a toujours porté un grand intérêt à tous les aspects de la réalisation de films pour s'assurer que les résultats finaux de ses films soient aussi proches que possible de sa vision originale. L'un des premiers réalisateurs à voir les possibilités de la caméra fixe et de la grue «luma», il les a utilisées à leur plein potentiel. Il a même aidé à composer la musique de "Suspiria". Beaucoup de ses films sont considérés comme giallo ». Giallo signifiant jaune, qui à son tour provenait des couvertures jaunes des livres de poche horribles / thrillers horribles vendus en Italie. Il a réalisé 15 films -L'oiseau au plumage de cristal ',' The Cat O Nine Tails ',' Five Days In Milan ',' Four Flies on Grey Velvet ',' Profondo Rosso ',' Suspiria ',' Inferno ', «Tenebrae», «Phenomena», «Opera», «Two Evil Eyes», «Trauma», «The Stendhal Syndrome», «Phantom of the Opera» et «Non ho sonno». Il a également été impliqué dans la production / l'écriture de films pour d'autres comme son protégé Michele Soavi. Argento a également travaillé sur trois séries pour la télévision italienne. En 1972, «The Door of Darkness», en 1987 «Giallo» et «Turno di notte» en 1988. Il y a aussi trois documentaires sur Argento et ses films, «Dario Argento's World of Horror», «Dario Argento: Master of Horror (Dario Argento's World of Horror 2) »et« The World of Dario Argento 3 ».
