Née dans le Northwest, Julie a fréquenté l'Université de Washington en tant que gymnaste de la NCAA. Elle a ensuite gagné deux titres de Miss America Pageant avant d'être engagé dans "Follies on Broadway". Ses études l'ont finalement emmenée en Asie pour étudier les arts martiaux. Elle continue à étudier sous la tutelle du sensei Benny Urquidez.
