Andre Braugher est un acteur américain, né le 1er juillet 1962 à Chicago. Il est connu pour avoir interprété dans la série Homicide le rôle du détective Frank Pembleton de 1993 à 1998, et en 2000. Il a tenu le rôle principal dans la série télévisée Thief, diffusée sur la chaîne américaine FX depuis mars 2006 et celui du Dr Nolan dans Dr House. Parmi ses nombreux rôles au cinéma, on peut citer Piège en eaux troubles (1993), Peur primale (1996), La Cité des anges (1998) et Fréquence interdite (2000). Plus récemment, il a joué le personnage du capitaine Bradford dans le film Poséidon (2006), remake du film de 1972. Andre Braugher a joué dans deux adaptations de Stephen King : Salem (2004) à la télévision, et The Mist (2007) dans une adaptation au cinéma réalisée par Frank Darabont et qui réunit également Thomas Jane, Laurie Holden et Marcia Gay Harden. À partir de 2013, il devient le Capitaine Raymond Holt dans la série Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
