Morris Lamont Chestnut, né le 1er janvier 1969 à Cerritos (Californie), est un acteur américain qui s’est fait remarquer au début des années 1990. Il se révèle dans *Boyz n the Hood* (1991) en incarnant Ricky Baker, un rôle qui lance sa carrière. Par la suite, il alterne entre films d’action, comédies romantiques et dramatiques : on le voit dans *G.I. Jane* (1997), *The Brothers* (2001), *Like Mike* (2002), *Ladder 49*, *The Game Plan* et *The Call*. Il reprend aussi des rôles déjà établis, comme Lance Sullivan dans *The Best Man*, qu’il retrouve pour la suite *The Best Man Holiday* et dans la mini-série *The Best Man: The Final Chapters*. À la télévision, Chestnut a tenu des rôles principaux dans des séries telles que *Rosewood*, *Nurse Jackie*, *V*, *Goliath* et *The Resident*.
