Alì Babà va in città (1937)
Desideroso di procurarsi gli autografi dei divi del cinema, Al Babson riesce ad ottenere una parte nella lavorazione di un film ispirato alle "Mille e una notte", ma, stordito da un sedativo, si addormenta nel mezzo delle riprese ed immagina di essere trasportato indietro nei secoli fino ai tempi della favolosa Bagdad di Sherazade. Nel sogno egli viene scambiato per il figlio di Alì Babà e acclamato primo ministro del sultano Abdullah. Sfruttando saggiamente il prestigio di cui gode, il giovanotto si adopera per riformare in senso democratico le antiche leggi del paese, ma rimane invischiato negli intrecci sentimentali che regnano a corte e nella cospirazione del ribelle principe Musah che trama il colpo di stato.
