Come nacque il nostro amore (1947)
La giovane Iris McKinley s'inamora del ricco Bob Clarkman, ma non vorrebbe confessargli che i genitori sono una coppia di ballerini da rivista. Sua madre aveva esordito in un saggio scolastico ed era poi passata al balletto di rivista in una troupe professionale dove aveva conosciuto il futuro marito. I due avevano poi avuto successo. Iris ha frequentato la stessa scuola, calcato la stessa scena nel saggio finale e capito a sua volta che il suo avvenire è il ballo. Sposerà Bob e diventerà anche lei ballerina. Oscar per le musiche di Alfred Newman.
