King Kong (1976)
Una spedizione organizzata da una compagnia petrolifera alla ricerca di nuovi giacimenti di petrolio trova un gigantesco scimmione in un’isola dov’è venerato come un dio. Portato a New York fa più o meno le stesse cose del film originale, ma anziché sulla cima dell’Empire State Building, la corsa termina sulle vette delle ora tristemente famose Torri Gemelle. Remake del film del ’33, è stato preceduto da una lunga battaglia legale tra la Paramount (insieme con Dino De Laurentiis che avrebbe prodotto il film per loro) e la Universal, secondo la quale il romanzo originale di Wallace era di pubblico dominio.
